Part 11 - Revelations

Buffy opened the envelope with trembling fingers and there it was.

The results were clearly identifying Adam Sullivan as Buffy´s biological father.

Nobody bothered to give him a call. Buffy didn't know whether she should cry or dance with joy. Adam was her father. Angel wasn't her brother.

One part of her wanted to call him immediately, telling him that they were actually save as houses, able to do or be whatever they wanted. But the bigger part of her remained silent, sad about the past events, crying for her lost love. Angel wouldn't want her anymore. She'd sent him away. Surely he had moved on. She couldn't expect him to come back to her just because she wanted him to.

Faith and the others tried to convince her to at least give him a call but Buffy refused.

Time to start living again, no more crying and no more dreaming of things that just weren't supposed to happen.

Finally Buffy decided it was time to leave the house again. So Faith took her to the Bronze to celebrate. And after a while Buffy started to enjoy being there again. Her friends surrounded her on the dancefloor and everything was like back in the old days.

Angel had spotted her immediately after she and Faith had entered to Bronze. Sunnydale was a small town and how the hell did one not notice her. She was beautiful, glowing, even if she had lost some weight since he'd last seen her. The way she smiled, the way she moved to the music...he could almost hear the sound of her laughter wafting over to him. He knew he was probably staring at her but he didn't care. There was no doubt he still wanted her. Not as a brother but as a man. It was wrong and he knew all that because it had stopped him from driving past her house every night just to be near her. He knew that because, even if his friends had tried, he couldn't make himself care about another woman. He was in love with the one woman he couldn't have. To see her, right in front of him, dancing, enjoying herself made that even more clear. Apparently she was over him. She had accepted the fact that they weren't meant to be and she was moving on. Why couldn't he do the same? Why couldn't he nudge the guy standing next to him, staring in the same direction he was, and tell him: See that girl? Isn't she beautiful? Well, guess what, she's my little sister. Why?

He tried to think of something else but failed. He tried looking for similarities between them. Did they have the same nose? No, certainly not. But what about the way she smiled, wasn't that how Lilah had sometimes looked like? Yes, there could be something....

Buffy looked confused as Faith suddenly started dragging her from the dancefloor.

"Hey, what are you doing?", she protested.

"Nothing...but don't you just have enough for a while, too?", Faith tugged at her arm.

Buffy knew her friend was a terrible liar when it came to her and turned around.

"Ok ok, I´ll tell you.", Faith whispered in her ear. "Angel's standing at the bar. And he's staring at you."

"Oh...", was all Buffy could say. She never had thought about seeing him here. But now that she was confronted with his presence she scolded herself for not thinking of the possibility. Of course he would be here, everybody was here. Wait, staring at her? She tried to get a glimpse of him but Faith pulled her further away.

"What will you do now? Should we better go?", the brunette asked her. "I dunno, Faith.", Buffy had to admit. "I can't just walk over and talk to him, right?"

Faith shrugged, signalizing ´why not`. She knew Buffy was still in love with Angel and from the way he looked at her he wasn't feeling much different. Maybe they just needed to talk a little.

After five minutes of discussing the matter with herself, Buffy nodded determinedly. Faith gave her a hug and mumbled something about ´good luck´.

So Buffy straightened her clothes and took a deep breath before she started walking over to the man she loved.

Angel was thinking about his brotherly feelings for Buffy so deeply that he didn't see her coming. Just as she stopped right in front of him, glancing up nervously, he noticed her.

"Hi.", she said. Please make him talk to me, please.

"Uhm, hi.", he replied. Ohgod, how he had missed looking into her hazel eyes, the smell of vanilla surrounding her.

"I was wondering if you....maybe...want...if you would dance with me.", she asked him, her eyes pleading him to say yes. Perhaps a dance would ease the tension between them so that she could talk to him about the big news.

Dance with her? Oh no, not a good idea. Dancing meant touching and touching was bad. In which way was a brother allowed to touch his sister, what if he went too far?

"I'm not sure that's a good idea.", he managed to get out.

The disappointment on her face was obvious. "Why?"

"You know why, Buffy.", he felt anger welling up inside him. How could she ask why?

"What's wrong about a dance?", she felt like being swallowed by the ground. She hadn't imagined this to be easy but never thought it could be so hard.

"Buffy, you may have forgotten about the little fact that we are brother and sister, but I've not. I don't know how to talk to you or touch you. I try to have brotherly feelings for you but I can't. I can't dance with you and I can't talk to you.", with that he turned and left the Bronze, leaving her behind with tears in her eyes.

The following day Buffy was pacing her room. She had talked to Faith about what had happened but still wasn't sure what to do. Meeting Angel again had made pretty clear she still wanted him. But since he refused to talk to her, how could she explain the latest events? How could she tell him Adam Sullivan was her father?

Finally she sat down at her desk and started writing.

Dear Angel,

I hope you're reading this letter because I want you to know something.

First of all I want to tell you I'm sorry. I'm sorry for putting you through all this trouble. I'm sorry you're hurting. I'm sorry for not leaving you alone, even after what happened yesterday.

I want you to know that we did some tests because we wanted to find out who my real father was. Apparently my Mom wasn't sure about it. So we did tests and the results were identifying Adam Sullivan as my father. I've never known him nor will I ever meet him. Seems like he doesn't care so much about me or my mother.

I'm sorry for making you believe your father could be my Dad. I just didn't know the truth then. We're not family.

Don't think I expect anything from this letter, I just thought it would be fair to let you know. I never meant to hurt you.

Buffy

It was a short letter but it held all she had to say. Surely he wouldn't be delighted if she wrote how much she still loved him, how much she missed him, begging him to come back to her. He had a right to know that he wasn't her brother. Of course he wouldn't want her anymore after all the trouble she'd caused.

So she sent the letter, hoping that the weeks of chaos were finally left behind, over once and for all.

Angel opened the envelope, unable to identify the handwriting. He read the letter once, twice. Finally he leaned back in his chair and stared at the ceiling. She wasn't his sister. Buffy was not his sister but a woman he was allowed to love in all the ways he wanted to. If she'd let him. But the letter signalized something different. She didn't expect anything. She was saying goodbye. Buffy thought they were over and maybe they really were. His instincts told him to run to her house, pull her into his arms and kiss all her doubts and fears away. But his fear held him back. She wanted to move on. He had no right to push her. Maybe it was really time to start forgetting her.

Buffy climbed the stairs to Faith's room where Gunn, Anya and Dawn were already waiting, her best friend close behind her. She definitely needed a little distraction. It had been a week since she had sent the letter and still no reaction from Angel. Not that she expected him to react in any way. Just that little voice inside her head, telling her to keep hoping that maybe he would show up or call her. She was just about to open the door when she heard Anya´s voice mentioning him and stopped dead in her tracks, causing Faith to spill the popcorn as she bumped into her.

"Of course Angel still wants her.", the blonde exclaimed. "He's just too stubborn to make a move and tell her."

"Maybe he thinks it's better this way?", Gunn asked his girlfriend.

"Oh please! He's miserable, she's miserable. How can that be better?", Anya emphasized her point.

Apparently Gunn just shrugged because the conversation wandered off to a different topic.

Buffy turned around to look at Faith.

"See, I told you. He's not over you.", Faith smiled at her.

"Yeah, but what now?", Buffy asked her.

"Well, do you want him back?"

Buffy nodded. She missed him. She loved him. And she wanted him back.

"Guess you need a plan then, girlfriend.", Faith winked at her.

TBC.....

Will Buffy come up with a plan? Will it work? Send feedback and take a guess! *g*

Part 12 - I Was Made To Love You Rating: NC-17 Dedication: to Hannahbee*smooch*, Leni and to all those who have waited so patiently for this to come. Feedback: oh please! Pretty pretty please! Please? Note: I need to say a few things. Especially to the people reading my stories at FFnet. Most of you guys are amazingly sweet and I adore the feedback you gave me on this. You made my day more than once and I´m really glad you like the story. But some of you, namely jess (who prefers to not sign the reviews) and a certain person who I contacted via e-mail are simply rude. You expect me to be a writing machine and don´t even say please or ask kindly for the next part. I KNOW this took me a while. And I´m really sorry to have left all of you with the cliffhanger. But I DO have a real-life. For the last few weeks it wasn´t fun. I have to work, I have to go to classes, my PC broke down and I lost all my data (and some things are never gonna come back that were really important to me). I stated all this in my settings at FFnet WEEKS AGO. Go read it. So don´t tell me to write faster on a PC that´s worth a shit. Don´t tell me to write faster when I try to organize my life. I LOVE writing. I love people enjoying it. But "feedback" like yours is not appreciated. I really don´t wanna tell you what you should write. But stuff like this could have been send to me via e- mail and would have been answered within a day. Point. Thanks.

Once they had agreed on a plan, it was only a matter of timing. With the help of an unsuspecting Anya, Faith managed to get insight into Angel's plans for the next nights and when they were sure Angel was to stay home on Saturday, Buffy and Faith went shopping for the last few necessities.

They spent the evening at Faith's, waiting until it was dark outside. Buffy paced the room in regular intervals until Faith threatened to tie her to a chair. Still, the blonde couldn't help but getting more nervous with every glance at her watch. What if the plan failed? What if the idea didn't succeed or worse made him laugh at her? How could she expect him to take her back after all the trouble she caused him?

Buffy was so deep into thoughts, she almost jumped when Faith finally spoke again: "I think it's time." They parked the car in front of the Manner's house so that they could clearly make out Angel's window on the first floor. The light was still on, causing them to wait just a little longer, leaving Faith to think of new ways to distract her nervous wreck of a best friend.

After two hours of waiting the lights in Angel's room were still shining brightly.

"Geez, just how long does it take him to go to bed?", Faith sighed.

"He's kinda a night person...", Buffy replied softly.

Faith smiled at her sympatically and they started talking about Groo again, a topic that came up more and more between them lately.

"If he doesn't have to guts to ask you out, maybe you should try...", Buffy suggested.

"Yeah, sure. Because being rejected is so much fun!", the brunette snorted.

"He'd be mad, if he'd reject you.", Buffy smiled. "Anyway, I saw him watching you last night at the Bronze."

"Ok ok, tell you what? If you get Prince Charming, I'll ask him, okay?", Faith surrendered finally. "Looks like somebody's finally decided to get some beauty-sleep.", Faith pointed out after another 30 minutes of waiting.

Buffy didn't know if that was a good or a bad thing, still nervous about their plan. Still, they had a lot to do, the fact that it was 2 a.m. by now not making matters easier for them. Luckily it was a light summer night. Giving herself a kick in the ass she opened the door and then the trunk of the car.

Faith soon joined her and together they managed to carry the flowers to the front lawn rather quickly. The right spot to start was found soon, however it was a little more difficult to make the holes for the little plants to put in. Glancing at the map they made earlier, Buffy started on one end and Faith on the opposite one. Soon they were all sweaty and after 2 hours Faith was barely able to hold her shovel.

"You should go home.", Buffy told her.

"It's ok, really.", Faith replied, stifling another yawn. "I won't leave you alone with this."

"Faith, it's ok. See, it's really not that much left anymore. And after all I'm the one who should be doing this. You go have some sleep, I'll take a cab or something when I'm done."

The argued for some minutes until Faith finally gave in, hugged her best friend and left for a warm shower and her own bed. Buffy saw the taillights of her car disappearing around the corner, yawned again and continued her work. However working alone was much duller than she thought and it was only because of her determination she managed to dig hole after hole. It was way past 4:30 when the end was nearing.

"Might as well have a little break...", the blonde mumbled to herself. Every bone in her body seemed to hurt, she was sure of having blisters on her hands the next day and more than sure that she never ever would set foot into a garden any time soon. She sat down next to the last plant and stretched her legs. How good would it feel to lie down for a minute... Angel woke early for his standards, it was Sunday morning after all. He blinked his eyes in confusion until it occurred to him that he had forgotten to shut the blinds last night. Checking the alarm clock on his night stand, he noticed that it was really only 6 a.m.. Stepping out of bed he trotted towards the window, eager to get some more sleep once the sun wasn't shining straight into his face anymore, promising another perfect summer day in California.

When he reached the window, he took a short look outside and then pulled the blinds shut only to almost tear them apart the next second. He blinked again, afraid he was seeing things but nothing changed. Down on the front lawn was a message he could rarely miss. What must be more than 50 red roses, planted neatly on the green grass stated four words:

I LOVE YOU ANGEI.

Next the unfinished `L` in the end was a curled up ball of blue denim, red cotton and blonde hair.

Buffy.

Such a strong wave of love rushed into him he had to take a step back from the window. There she was, the girl that haunted his dreams, day and night. The one girl he was in love with and couldn't forget, pouring her heart out for everyone to see. Noticing she obviously hadn't intended leaving herself as a living signature he quickly grabbed his pants and a shirt and headed down the stairs. When he stood in front of her, he couldn't help but smile at the expression of exhaustion and peacefulness on her face. Carefully he took the shovel out of her hand and lifted her up in his arms, carrying her inside, to his room and into his bed. She never woke up or even stirred, though she snuggled against him as he tiptoed through the house. Not wanting to disturb her peaceful slumber, he carefully removed her boots and covered her with a blanket before he stepped back to watch her once again.

"So beautiful...", he whispered, before he settled into a chair opposite the bed. He could have spent days watching her sleep but after a while nature called and he tiptoed out into the hall and headed towards the bathroom. When he reentered his room, he found her stirring and finally blinking. Obviously confused, she sat up in panic, not remembering where she was or how she got there. All thoughts rushed from her brain when she finally saw who was standing next to the bed.

"Angel?", she whispered, her voice still hoarse from sleep.

"Morning, sleepyhead.", he smiled at her. She was incredibly gorgeous, still half asleep.

"What...when...how?", she tried to ask, all the questions returning to her all at once.

"I got your message.", he was still smiling. Was that a good or a bad sign?

"Oh." Great, could you be even more monosyllabic? "Uhm...and?"

"I thought you might want to hear what I have to say about this. Considering it's Sunday, it could be kinda hard to get some flowers and decorate your garden. So I thought you'd maybe accept my answer in another way?"

Buffy sat up in bed and prepared for the worst. This was it, the moment of truth, the moment she both dreaded and longed for. Finally she managed a nod.

"Buffy, I love you. I loved you from the moment I first saw you and I never stopped. I tried to, but I couldn't....", he stopped when he saw the tears rolling down her face.

"What's wrong, tell me...", he sat down next to her on the bed.

"Me neither.", she sobbed. "I...I love you."

He closed the distance between them and took a look deep into her eyes. Although they had done this before, it felt like the first time when he finally kissed her, pouring all his feelings for her into that one kiss, leaving her breathless when they finally broke apart.

"No more secrets?", he asked her.

"No more secrets, no more lies and no more surprises.", she sniffled happily.

He kissed her again, then moved to kiss and lick every tear away. They spent an eternity kissing each other, exchanging only love words in between, while an old fire was burning brighter with every kiss. They became more and more passionate, starting to undress each other in silent worship.

"You sure you want this?", Angel finally asked her, panting for air. He wanted her more than anything else in this world but if she wasn't ready he could wait.

Buffy nodded, although a spike of fear mixed with her passion.

"Make love to me...", she whispered.

"I love you.", Angel replied and started to kiss a path down her neck, down to her now exposed breasts, sucking and nibbling them until she writhed underneath him, begging for more.

Finally they were naked and Angel reached for the nightstand to draw a condom out. Buffy watched him unwrap it, anxiously waiting for what was to come next.

"Shh..love, it's ok.", he whispered. He couldn´t promise her not to hurt her, but he already hated himself for it.

"I know you wouldn´t hurt me on purpose, Angel. I want this, really."

Once again Angel wondered how on earth he deserved such a wonderful woman. He kissed her tenderly, his left hand twisting and rolling her nipples while his right hand wandered further down to explore her hidden folds. She was already wet for him but tensed slightly as he started to stroke in a slow rhythm. However tension quickly turned into pleasure as first one, then two strong fingers were moving in and out of her tight channel, while his thumb manipulated her clit, sending her into her first orgasm.

"Ohgod, Angel...", she moaned, thrusting her hips upwards. Before she had time to recover his throbbing erection was tracing her entrance, dipping in slowly, giving her the chance to get accustomed to the size and feeling of him.

"Buffy, open you eyes, love.", he pleaded. When her large hazel eyes finally met his, he moved forward in one fluid motion. The moment's pain crossed her features and he kissed her deeply once again.

"I'm sorry, sweetheart. I love you."

"I love you, too.", she whispered.

He started to move again and soon they found a rhythm together, making sweet and tender love until both reached their peaks together. He collapsed on top of her and wanted to move aside but she held him close for a while, relishing in the feel of his weight on top of her.

Angel brushed the damp hair from her forehead, peppering kisses all over her face. "You're incredible, my love."

After cuddling close together both of them fell asleep again. When they woke again, Angel only left the room to get some breakfast, while Buffy gave Faith a quick call, telling her she'd better call Groo anytime soon and that they would see each other tomorrow.

Buffy and Angel spend most of the day in bed, feeding each other, talking about what had happened in their lives for the past weeks and making plans for the rest of the holidays. When they made love again, Buffy found herself much more relaxed, drawing much more pleasure from the act that made them what they both wanted to be: one. They took their time getting to know every part of each other, after all they both had a lifetime together ahead of them. The end? Not yet...there's still an epilogue.

The Bronze was once more hopping tonight. A perfect atmosphere for the occasion.

"I can't believe you're leaving us, Dawnie..", Faith exclaimed between two sips from her bottle.

"I can't believe they're doing this to me!", Dawn sighed in defeat and leaned onto Xander´s shoulder who gave her a friendly hug in response.

Dawn's announcement that her parents were moving back to LA had led to hectic planning of a proper farewell-party and it seemed like all of their friends were making it so far. Even Lorne and Jenny had managed to get a babysitter for a few hours. Anya was sitting next to Gunn, Faith was watching the stage like a hawk since the Dingoes were playing once more. Next to her sat a very unhappy looking Giles, who just couldn't get over the fact that Fred kept ignoring him and was watching the stage instead. Xander had the seat of honor next to Dawn. After Kate had dumped him two weeks ago, they saw him around more often again, a fact that made Gunn much more comfortable around his usual bunch of girls. Even Lindsey and Tara had joined them, happily announcing that the new date for their cancelled wedding was in 6 months.

The only ones not sitting at the table were Buffy and Angel. The were dancing, exchanging as Faith had put it mildly "public displays of affection". Hearing that, Anya had just snorted, mumbling something of "making out in public" until Gunn shut her up with a kiss.

Dawn was watching the couples at the table and shot a last desperate look over to Giles. Maybe it was better to start all over again somewhere new...

"Wanna go dance?", she asked Faith. In vain. "Faith?"

"Hey, Matthews! People are talking to you!", Gunn nudged the brunette next to him playfully in the ribs.

"Sorry, huh?", Faith blushed.

"I was going to ask if you wanted to dance but since Dingoes are on a break now...", Dawn didn't even realize that Faith wasn't listening. Groo had just stepped from the stage and was heading straight towards them, Willow and Doyle in tow.

Buffy and Angel finally noticed that the music had been turned off and made their way towards the large table, cuddling close. Ever since their reunion they weren't able to be apart from each other for long, not to speak of keeping their hands of each other. Nobody complained since the couple radiated with so much happiness that it was almost intoxicating for the people around them.

Angel gave a quick wave over to the bar, where Oz and Kendra were sitting, and pulled Buffy into his lap. She leaned back with a smile and grinned even more as she saw Faith and Groo kissing deeply. After a few words of encouragement Faith had finally called the handsome musician, only to find out that she didn't have to beg long for a date.

After a few moments Buffy turned around to steal a kiss from Angel and ended up pressing against the erection bouncing up inside his pants.

"I guess this means they accepted him?", a voice came up behind them.

"Ben!", Buffy beamed when she had disentangled herself from Angel.

"Hi! Thought I´d stop by and say goodbye to Dawnie...", her stepbrother grinned back at her. "So?"

"Oh, yeah...everything was good. I can keep him.", Buffy smiled, drowning in Angel´s chocolate eyes. Today he had finally met Darla and Maggie, completely nervous about making a good impression and ending up dazzling them with his charm. Ever since Holland and Lilah had accepted her so quickly Angel had worried about Buffy´s family. Now he felt like the happiest man in the world and extremely horny. No woman had affected him the way Buffy did. He just couldn't get enough of her.

Ben noticed that he was being ignored again and went over to say goodbye to Lorne and Jenny who were leaving early, too nervous to leave Lorne´s mother all alone with their two boys for too long.

Once the Dingoes had finished their set, everybody was dancing to music from the boxes again. Suddenly an all too familiar song was coming out of the boxes.

All the things she said

all the things she said

Angel shot Faith a mock glare. "Hands of my woman!", he yelled across the dancefloor.

Faith impishly grinned at her best friend and approached her, squeezing herself between Buffy and angel.

"But why?", she asked innocently. "She just tastes so delicious...". Wetting her lips, she closed the distance between them and kissed Buffy on the mouth. Both girls burst into giggles.

"You're killing me!", Angel groaned and pulled Buffy against him. She squealed as she felt his erection against her belly while he kissed her breathless.

"I suddenly feel very, very tired...", she faked a yawn.

"Maybe I should take you home..." Angel played his part along with her.

Neither of them really cared if their excuses were convincing. Considering their behavior of the past weeks, everybody probably knew exactly what was going on.

Shooting a last glance back at their happily dancing group of friends, Faith and Groo kissing once more, Buffy smiled before she headed out of the door.

As soon as the door of the room closed behind them, they couldn't hold back anymore. Sending a silent prayer of thanks to the heavens that both his father and sister were in LA for the weekend, Angel let his hands wander over his lover's lithe body. She seemed to fit perfectly into his arms and he intended to never let her go again. They moved in perfect unison, undressing each other in silent worship, cherishing every second of their being together. They fell onto the bed in a tangle of limbs, eager to be one again. But he took his time, slowly building her up until she was begging him to make love to her. Both cried out as he entered her, moving fluidly, like one being. They celebrated their love this night, over and over again. Nothing was going to stop them and nothing was going to separate them, ever again.

The end :o)
